World Youth Adventures leader James ‘Cas’ Castrission & his best mate Justin ‘Jonesy’ Jones will be sharing stories from their record-breaking 2,270km polar crossing at an intimate evening in store at Paddy Pallin Sydney and Melbourne next week.
On Australia Day, Thursday 26 January 2012, Cas and Jonesy created history by becoming the first pair to travel the 2,270km journey from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back, totally unsupported.
Cas and Jonesy completed their trek after 89 days of pushing the very limits of mental and physical pain in one of the planet’s most unpredictable and harshest landscapes.
They suffered from severe sleep and food deprivation and experienced hallucinations, continuous fatigue and painful injuries.
Despite these hardships, their spirits were always high and their massive efforts were well worth the experience when they crossed the finish line.
Go along and hear what really happened on the ice as well as see amazing footage from their expedition. With some Icebreaker giveaways up for grabs and plenty of entertainment it’s sure to be a great night! Presentation kicks off promptly at 6:30pm, followed by a short Q&A session.
Thursday, 24th May – Paddy Pallin Sydney – 507 Kent St, Sydney CBD
Friday, 25th May – Paddy Pallin Melbourne – 360 Little Bourke St, Melbourne CBD
